Training Day!
Published by aud July 9th, 2007 in A day in the lifeToday was my last training day at Kohls, very exciting. Yesterday I trained to be a sales floor associate (basically I clean up clothes) but today I got to run the cash registers
Apparently unlike some other places, Kohls has it’s “associates” trained in cashiering, shoes, and their own departments. It was quite an adventure. I was trained under Eugene, a very friendly and happy old man :3 it’s the old people that are always sweet and the young people who tend to be mumbly grumbly about their work. My favorite people so far:
Jeoffery (Jeff), the manager who always tries to be funny all the time XD
Tonya, the manager who actually knows what she’s doing all the time, very nice and has a very good memory
Eugene, the nice old man… ya… I don’t know how else to describe him
Sophie, the nice and funny old lady who works in childrens. She takes her job very seriously, but is very very nice
Anyhow, as suspected, cash registers are pretty difficult to run. Well, ok, not THAT difficult. It pretty much tells you what to do on the screen… except when you get those special incidents that happen to happen a LOT… other than that, not so bad. I encountered a couple of mean old fogeys, some mean young fogeys, and of course a lot of really nice people
it evens out. I even got to see some friends and a couple of people still trying to apply for Kohls. I overheard that they’re interviewing next week, so if your interested you might want to hurry over ![]()
Wow, a real job in the real world!
