Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!! So, as usual, I wonder, what and why is it Saint Patrick’s Day?

My basic knowledge of it comes from watching the veggie tales explaination of Saint Patrick. If you’ve never seen it, you really should, I think it’s hilarious. So, it’s basically about Maylon Socket (sp?) who gets kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in ireland. With no where to go and no one to turn to, he finds himself praying day and night. Finally, God tells him to leave and he finds a group of men that take him back to England (?) Somewhere along that line his name is changed to Patrick.. i don’t remember when. Anyway, there he finishes his schooling. He then is led to return to Ireland and spread the gospel to the people who had earlier oppressed him. So, in short, it was because of Patrick, who was named a saint when he died, that the people in Ireland were saved :) Isn’t that a nice story?

And as many know, the shamrock was what Patrick used to exemplify to the people how God is made of the father, the son, and the holy ghost. And ya, even though the day was origionally to celebrate the bringing of Christianity(or Catholisism) to Ireland, it’s simply become more of an Irish awareness day. The wearing of the green is to make sure no one forgets what Patrick did for the people of Ireland and their new found knowledge, but it’s become more of an excuse to get to pinch your friends.

And now, the answer to the title of this post, which was secretly one of Audrey’s corney, yet hilariously funny jokes :)

Because regular rocks are too heavy!!

ahh…. I kill myself :)
