I’ve been asked before, what’s better being pessimistic or optimistic? Pessimism makes you strive to be better and never too careful, but optimism keeps you going and joyful… so which is it? I’ve always said both, but I don’t think it every made as much sense as this that sums it all up:

Hope for the best, expect the worst, take what comes
