Little Tokyo
Published by aud April 10th, 2006 in A day in the life1st day of Spring Break!!!
Nico, Emme, my mom, and I went to Little Tokyo today! What an adventure XD None of us really knew the way so Nico’s mom gave us instructions and sent us off. At the station we saw Auntie Tiffany, a pleasant surprise. Apparently because of spring break she didn’t have to get to USC until later today so she was going on the same train as us. Mom and Auntie Tiffany sat together on the train while the three of us girls sat together, telling of all our crazy dreams - hospital zombies, Grim Reaper sisters, and of course homing nuclear bombs in the shape of dogs made out of poop…ya…
Anyhow, Union station was really cool. Of course, with my bad memory, I didn’t remember what it looked like. It was really amazing, esspecially the mural and the ceiling.

Nico looks good in that pic
Yay… arm rest ^ ^
After that we took the bus, having a difficult time figuring out which one would take us to J-town. We only had to walk about three blocks after that till we finally reached the plaza. We got there around 10 and none of the stores opened until 11.. soo.. we did some looking around and picture taking

Ahh!! smashedness haha.. the three stages of jumping.. preparting, starting and the actual jump
Then the shopping began. Didn’t do much though before our stomachs started to grumble. The coolest things about these Japanese restraunts is the fake food in the window.
of course.. real food tastes better
but you can’t do this with real food
Then of course, it’d be boring to tell of the multiple shops we visited, but here are some interesting place (that we didn’t visit, but it was just too cool)

Then in the 89cents or more store, we found the coolest icecream scooper in the world!

Yes! A bullet prrof icecream scooper, just what I always needed! Hahaha… It’s great for those times when you get attacked when your scooping icecream.
The only other interesting details to tell are the icecream shop and the walk back to the bus. There Nico bought a mochi, way over priced, and I bought green tea icecream, also over priced. The interesting part though, was the sample. Never have I seen Lychee icecream before, so naturally I was interested and asked for a sample. He tried his very best to give us me as little as possible. It was about 1mm by 1mm by 1mm sample. I couldnt’ really tell what it tasted like so I went with the green tea. As for the bus, it started to rain just as we were leaving Little Tokyo. Nico was the only one out of the four of us who had brought an umbrella. Oh the irony! She swooped out her nifty umbrella (superhero like) opened it.. but not really, the handel pulled off. It was quite hilarious. But it wasn’t a long walk so it was ok. Anyway, fun day, good times.
Looking at these pictures i so want to go there now! Looks like so much fun, haha although shopping… hmmm need a reason to go shopping… lol maybe need to get a new outfit haha.
Yup, Peter could use a new kimono!
A great day indeed. Thanks for the free train and bus tickets, Nic.
no sword. haha
we NEED to do that again..or at least more often. but next time: K-TOWN!
